Interprofessional Education
The Office of Interprofessional Education (IPE) prepares students to work in team settings, collaborating with clinicians and health professionals in other specialties. This approach leads to improved patient outcomes, fewer errors, and reduced organizational costs. Simply put, IPE at the University of Mississippi Medical Center prepares students to practice deliberate, high-stakes, collaborative care for a healthier Mississippi.
About IPE
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), “Interprofessional education occurs when students from two or more professions learn about, from, and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes.”
